Bones is the nickname of Dr. Temperance Brennan, played by Emily Deschanel, an anthropologist at the Jeffersonian. Teamed together with FBI Agent Seeley Booth, played by David Boreanaz, they are a crime fighting force. He consults Bones regularly to solve endless crimes. Bones is the typical melancholic rigorous scientist, typically cynical and sheltered. Booth is cocky and outgoing, a sanguine, but methodical and sharp.

Their tandem is both nutty and funny. When you see Bones on field work, she is just as natural as she is, a rigorous scientist, and likes carrying a gun, because Booth has one. Bones is naturally funny, especially when she has to be in a crime, and she was supposed to be tip toeing. She is naturally hilarious and amusing at the same time without over acting.

The flow of her analysis comes out naturally in her character. She has a strong take charge personality, and has a deep capacity of analyzing the case in its technical details. She is personable and endearing at the same time. Her common expression is “I don’t know what it means” and then explains comically. Bones appears to be confused and affirms, “I need subtitles walking into his space.
