To start with, Brennan found out that the present script was a bit different from what she has previously been presented with. The alterations, which resulted to a lot of inaccuracies and even absurdity, really irked the author. And as if that wasn’t bad enough, the cast was just terrible so that when Sherri, the actress who portrays the lead role of Dr. Kathy Reichs, incorrectly dissected a corpse, Brennan just couldn’t contain her disappointment. Although the director Jaco called for a second take, she wasn’t too happy to know that he didn’t pay much attention on the scientific aspect of the script.

But the worse was yet to unfold when they found out that the prop cadaver for the retake was an actual dead body. For fear that production might be put to a halt and consequently destroy Brennan’s dreams, she reassured everyone that she and Booth will go to the bottom of the case. Besides, it can be excellent PR to have the real Agent Andy Lister and Dr. Kathy Reichs work on it.

Much to their convenience, the Jeffersonian lab on the set, which Hodgins was totally envious of, can actually be of use. There, they were able to identify the corpse as Hanson Stephens who is a studio exec.

The team’s roster of potential suspects was composed of almost everyone in the production, from the screenwriter to the actress. After rigorously analyzing every possible motive, it was soon revealed that the head gardener Valerie was the killer. Those who religiously follow the series may notice a pattern developing here wherein the bad guy was the least person one would ever suspect of having dark motives. That element of surprise may have worked for how many episodes and even seasons of Bones but it can get too trite at times.

While the twelfth episode had quite a share of the suspense, a few humorous subplots were injected to provide some comic relief. For one, there’s the revelation of Cam’s embarrassing acting stint long ago. Barry Summers, the actor who portrays Hodgins in the film, remembered Cam from a movie they previously worked in. The title was “Invasion of the Mother Suckers” which had a heavy retro vibe to it. Angela and Hodgins’ determination to get hold of a copy of the film was a feat to see.

And of course, the ridiculous explosive trailers of “The Bone of Contention” were major LOL material.

The issues between Jeffersonian Daycare center and Brenan continued, and because of the disagreements persisting between her and Booth, it almost seemed certain that they would have to employ a caretaker for Christine; it is so heartening to see how small kids have to suffer, just because adults can’t keep their egos to themselves. This episode surely spreads some light on this front. Nowadays, in our society, parents because of their personal differences neglect their children; this result in a very troubled future for the child. We guess the writers have stressed on the point for the people to recognize the fact. Max comes in as the caretaker boy, and he is fun to watch. He has been out of action for so long that we were thinking, whether he will make a comeback or not, and it seems that he has come back with a bang.

We see the distress that Brenan is going through, as she still can’t cope up with her father’s absence from her life. It is quite understandable with the kind of attachment she had with him. It is one of the most touching parts of the episode. We see Hodgins hunting for truffles.

Though, as we said earlier, the first half was slow; the second half was exciting. A long forgotten, 200 years to be precise, feud between the Moblies and Babcocks has surfaced. The issue, which is about a metal poisoning incident, takes up the second half. It is about the ground water being poisoned; hence, it showcases the kind of technology out ancestors used. It puts in highlight how they used to cope up with issues, and how lack of technology didn’t allow them to arrive at a correct conclusion. Daisy, in this episode chips in as a mediator trying to resolve the issue.

Then, Brennan and Booth are called to the scene of a new murder. After determining the victim is Brennan’s friend, who also is linked to Pelant, the Jeffersonian team works to prove he is guilty once and for all. But when law enforcement examines the team’s findings, key pieces of evidence are tied to Brennan and suspicion falls on her.

Hodgins stole the show throughout the episode. He not only used the machines most effectively, he was portrayed as very meticulous researcher who was able to decipher even a worm for facts and evidences. His lighter side made the mood a bit light when he surprises everybody by throwing Founder’s party.

The audience has connected with Parker very well. They have become used to his intelligent ways and his presence of mind makes him look sexier. Perhaps, makers understand this and are using him as a trump card every now and then as high point of the show. Parker accidentally falling into water body and finding a decapitated head saves a lot of time of searching and speculating. Such incidences maintain his position as the star attraction of the show.

However, scenes like use of YouTube clipping as an alibi deter the quality of the show. Such scenes are very far from the reality and are not at all bought by the young audience.

Bones review is incomplete without the mention of Brennan’s reading of Parker’s behavior. This scene has all the ingredients of research, knowledge and expertise for which Bones have managed to get the audience season after season. The scene is shot in a very believable manner.

Makers will need to conceive scenes and situations to keep Parker very much into the show. The audience cannot think of the show without him. His character has outrun the popularity of the other lead and makers should do everything possible to retain the viability of his character. Parker, however, is shown being in low spirits and an impetus is definitely required to revive the energy of this character as audience will not be able to tolerate their role model in bad shape for long.

The scenes like Booth asking Sweets to stay in the car in response to her threatening are able to retain the flavor of tension and suspense among the audience. Such scenes are the back bone of any thriller series and using them wisely does the trick for Bones too.

Then she discovers that the prop cadaver being used is an actual murder victim, forcing her and Booth to launch an investigation that has real-world consequences in the land of make-believe. Meanwhile, Booth is offered a job on the studio lot, and embarrassing information is revealed about Cam’s past

The episode was titled ‘The Don’t in Do’ and it one very interesting installment of the show. One strong impression it would have left for some fans would be not to take anyone for granted, especially the shampoo boy at your local saloon.

One thing ‘Bones‘ seems to have mastered is the art of revealing a corpse. The one in this episode in the landfill was gruesome indeed. But what was more gruesome was the fact that the shampoo boy used the scalpel to make the victim hairless. He scalped Santiago for his hair and to think that he got obsessed over it because of how Santiago treated his coif.

To soften the case of the week, there was the light moments of Brennan adjusting to just having a baby and her returning back to feminine ways. It was not fun for Booth and come to think of it; it wasn’t not even fun for Brennan because she was the one having the post baby issues but Booth took the brunt of it.

It was a good thing Sweets came to the rescue although Booth was not ready to listen to or accept his explanation for Brennan’s behavior. But he eventually did and got her the lingerie which for a moment looked as if it was going to blow up in his face going by the way Brennan reacted at first. But she liked it and even admitted that she had never had that kind of lingerie before which was so sweet of her. So credit should go to Sweets for helping Booth out when he was desperate for it.

Then there was the issue of Aristu whose normal is to always be formal. So it was worrying to see him chirpy and quite happy for a change looking all loose instead of his usually uptight posture. It turned out that his write-up had been accepted for publication in the Forensic Journal. But it later turned out that it was pumped for piece from Selena Gomez which came as a shock although Brennan was glad to read something from her even if it was in such an uptight looking journal. It did not even seem or sound believable that her piece should be in a science journal in the first place; poor Aristu.

It was an interesting episode.

Another body is discovered in the woods. This time the investigation reveals the victim was part of a Hatfield-McCoy-type battle between two families. At home, Brennan’s reluctance to accept her father’s babysitting services means she must delve into her own family history to understand her feelings.

Meanwhile, Hodgins has caught the shopping bug, and seems to think he has an unlimited budget, as he augments his lab with high-tech toys. At home, Booth copes with Parker’s return from England and the realization he’s no longer an “only.”

A blue corpse discovered at a landfill inspires squint Vaziri’s creative side in a scientific way. His results send the team to investigate a hair salon and its inhabitants. Meanwhile, Booth plans something special for Brennan, who is unhappy with her post-partum physique.

As the episode commences with Booth holding his lovely daughter Christine, and Brennan packing her baby bag getting ready for daycare, many would have an estimation that this episode is going to rock. It can easily be guessed that several of Bones’ fans are waiting for Booth and Brennan to be parents, when they see Booth bustling over pregnant Brennan.

Booth and Brennan could go to any limits to ensure that Christine is under safe hands. Then, occurs a series of funny events, where Booth made use of the FBI database for requesting the daycare director’s contact details, and Brennan, on the other hand, blackmailed her to that extent of asking her to send Christine’s photo every half hour. Isn’t it strange to know that Brennan texted the director of daycare a photo of a dismembered body (dissected)?

The most enthralling scene would be the one, where Brennan asserts to the comments from some Jeffersonian team member. To the comment that they have a beautiful daughter, Brennan says that she would be more beautiful as she grows. Wondering what Booth must have said? Well, he just kept on uttering “Look at her.” With the parents being so confident, Christine can’t certainly let her parents down when she grows up. But, taking into consideration how cute and adorable Christine is now; she will probably meet or overshoot the high expectations of her loving parents. Booth and Brennan even cease buying things when they encounter a perpetrator in the store, who gets arrested.

Coming to what’s happening in Michelle and Finn’s life; well, they have become good friends after their date. So, Finn is back in action to spread the charm as in the beginning of the season.

Another highlight of the show is where both, Brennan and Booth realize that too much of coupon-ing is dangerous. In additional to this, another incident that sent shock waves around is the fact that Agent Shaw is a mother to Danny, 3 year old kid.

When Brennan misses her cute-pie Christine, while she is busy with her work, make her experience an emotional roller-coaster ride. This scene is sure to make many mothers emotional. She even consecrates to hide Christine inside the lab.

So, this is an episode that has it all – dead bodies, organic wipes, daycare, new romance and extreme couponing.
